Crushing the Lotus

GirlWaterTree2

She waded into the water and seized the lotus. No one saw her crush it. She didn’t know why she did it. There really was no reason.

Gaddafi’s Annus horribilis

18 March - Gaddafi2b2

“What we need here in Libya is a Royal Wedding. Yes, that ought to distract the public. It’s working in the UK after all.”

This is a take on Gaddafi’s proclamation - “I’m like the Queen of England.”

Book Cover–Robert Frost

RobertFrostF1

I’ve decided to redesign the book covers of my favorite books. I really like most of Robert Frost’s poetry, particularly ‘Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening’.

A close up of the typography can be seen on the Maysun In C blog.

Overload of Information

Sometimes I wonder if I really need to know so much about what's happening with the world. It leaves me so little time to discover what's happening with me.

Why do I want to See you again?

My nephew was over today - he's six - and, while the three dogs wrestled around us and ran off with important things, he drew on my palm with sketchpens - the roundish thing just under my small finger is a skull - just so you know. Then we scanned my palm, put in some digital effects, and found some old letters and an old drawing of mine to add to the picture.

Someone told me my handwriting looks like Arabic if seen upside down. Quite a few have trouble reading it straight up as it is. But I like it just fine. I look at it and I think, God, you genius, you ought to be preserved for posterity. :D

In garlic pickle. :D

Girl on the Bus

She enjoyed riding buses. Sometimes she got on a bus just to see where she ended up. It was a good way of getting to know the city and its people.

Canna Lilies

Yellow Canna Lilies are my absolute favorites in my garden. There is something rather musical about the shape of the flowers and the leaves - like a Strauss waltz somehow. And we've planted them in the soggiest corner, so there's not much to do either.
